There is concern among fishermen about receiving the transfer of the Support program for the Welfare of Fishermen and Aquaculturists (Bienesca), said representatives of this productive sector.
“There are a lot of breeds that haven't charged and are waiting for those famous cards to come out or for it to be defined that there won't be cards (and it's charged by another way)... people are worried because some of them were paid and the vast majority haven't been charged,” said Raúl Leal, president of the Federation of Fishing Cooperatives of Guasave, Sinaloa.
Although Conapesca has reiterated that it seeks, together with the Welfare Bank (Bansefi), to generate cards so that payments can be made without intermediaries, in the town the missing fishermen were informed that they would be delivered to them in February, Leal said.
On the last weekend of February, the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Commission (Conapesca) reported progress in the dispersion of 40% of Bienesca. This represents the payment to around 80,000 of the 201,714 beneficiaries that the program has nationwide.
