Every year, Mexico's Protected Natural Areas (ANP) become more vulnerable due to lack of protection. From 2015 to 2020, inspection and surveillance routes carried out by the Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection (Profepa) decreased by 50.3%, from 909 to 452, according to a request for information made to that agency for this investigation.
