2022 is already going on like a year in which challenges in the environmental sector are curled by components of political polarization and disinformation that characterize the current times.

Faced with a scenario where Fake News has tried to exchange noise for what is important, our Causa Natura Journalism project celebrates one year of bringing verified information to the table for the construction of certainties, providing accurate stories and data to citizens on environmental issues.

How to demand improvements in the environmental sector if we don't have the information to do so, how to make better decisions without data to help us measure the magnitude of the problems, how to demand accountability from those who hold political or economic power without such information and analysis, or how to talk about solutions if we don't look at those who have already started to follow this path, are some of the questions that moved us to undertake this project.

We believe that the dissemination of information of public interest is one of the necessary bases for better citizen participation, promotion of initiatives for the common good and greater accountability. This is one of the main tasks and responsibilities of journalistic work that also applies to environmental journalism in Causa Natura.

The premise of CN Journalism, and what our readers can expect in 2022, is the continuation of the pillars with which we started a year ago when it came to reporting. We can summarize them in an environmental, critical, rigorously verified journalism, with a plurality of voices, based on facts and carried out by information professionals who make up this unconventional medium

It is true that there are not many media specialized in the environment in Mexico or Latin America. This makes us appreciate the synergies we can do this year with those who are doing the same job.

On the other hand, we are aware that there are stories about environmental issues that are waiting impatiently to be told. We are interested in revealing them and returning them to the public interest, which is where they can have an echo.

We also know that there is a growing interest among audiences to learn about these issues, and the growth of our community of readers confirms this. Tell them that we expect this project to be as theirs as ours in 2022.
