On September 25, 2019, during a session held by the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Data Protection (INAI), the commissioners voted in favor of the draft resolution presented by Commissioner Oscar Mauricio Guerra Ford. The project was presented as a result of the response that the National Aquaculture and Fisheries Commission (Conapesca) provided to a request submitted by Causa Natura A.C.

The resolution determines that CONAPESCA must provide a public version of all requests for fishing permits and concessions, both for new permits and for renewals for larger and smaller vessels; in this case from 2013 to May 9, 2019 (the date on which the request was submitted). It also instructs to provide the public version of fishing requests and negative decisions of the procedures. Causa Natura will follow up on the INAI resolution to seek that citizens can have greater access to information about the fisheries regulation process.
